Hear why your body is like a tent!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when we used to go beach camping as kids, I thought living in a tent was the hottest thing coming down the pike. Sand on the canvas floor and rain. Who cares?! Living in a tent was fun! Now, more than 40 years later, Ken and I still enjoy camping, but we do it in a rental condo. Come to think of it, maybe that’s why the Apostle Paul – who, himself, was a tent maker – likened living in these bodies of ours to living in a tent. Our bodies, like a tent, are only temporary. And with each passing year, we find that just getting through the day can be more strenuous than the year before. But the Apostle Paul said we won’t always be “groaning and burdened” with these patchwork tents of ours. So, friend, get excited with me today. Heaven is on the horizon and we’re getting ready to move on from these old, earthly tents.
