No matter the battles you face, trust in Jesus as your shield and lean on a prayer partner to stand by your side.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I love history. In the late 4th century, the first battle of the Greeks against the Persians broke out in the Balkan peninsula. Accounts say that 300 Greek men fought against a huge Persian army. And though all 300 Spartans perished, they killed thousands of Persians. The lesson here—it’s not about the size of the army. And that’s a good lesson for you and me. Psalm 33 says, “No king is saved by the size of his army, no warrior escapes by his great strength. The Lord delivers those who fear him, whose hope is in His unfailing love… He is our help and our shield.” Oh friend, every day we fight battles—battles against discouragement, sin and despair. But we cannot fight alone; let Jesus be your shield and defense. And then, get yourself a battle buddy, a fierce prayer warrior who will pray with you and help you cleave to your Savior.
