Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently, I met Adriana, a Costa Rican intern with our Cause 4 Life program. Three years ago, Adriana’s daughter, Sofi, was born with Down syndrome and a heart defect; nine months later, Sofi went to be with the Lord. Adriana said, “Joni, it has been the most painful separation that my husband and I ever experienced.” But Sofi left a legacy: through her, God showed Adriana how to reach out to people with disabilities. And today she’s training churches on how to do disability ministry. Isn’t it amazing how we often learn to minister to others out of our own suffering? It’s a way of passing on the comfort that we’ve received from the God of all comfort. Friend, I don’t know what hard times you’re facing, but there’s a rich legacy in your affliction from which others can benefit. So, join Adriana; consider serving as an intern with us.
