If today God has called you to minister despite great difficulties, remember, He will give you strength for that which He calls you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I have Christian friends who are so disabled, they live their life in bed. A few have been bedridden with chronic conditions for over a decade. Yet, they don’t waste time. Most of them are prayer warriors. Some dig through old essays written by saints long ago, finding marvelous encouragements which they then pass on to others in emails. Each one has a ministry. They see their greater suffering as a calling – a calling to help others who experience lesser suffering. Is it hard, serving the Lord from a bed of affliction? Yes! But these friends rely on Hebrews 13 where it says, “May the God of peace provide you with every good thing you need in order to do His will.” Oh friend, God’s calling is His enabling, yes, even on a sickbed. If today God has called you to minister despite great difficulties, remember, He will give you strength for that is what He’s called you to do.
