A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Placing Dreams on God's Altar

Episode Summary

Whether you’re in college or not, always place your dreams on God’s altar.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When I graduated from high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study in college. I thought maybe I could become a physical therapist. Of course, you know what happened to me a couple of weeks after school let out: I broke my neck. Now the irony is here, I did get into physical therapy—only on the wrong end! I wasn’t the physical therapist; I was the patient. Friend, maybe you know someone in the same situation; and this young person is wondering what in the world he’ll do for a career. Well, pray for them; ask God that they might place their dreams on God’s altar. Then, make your prayer the same as Paul prayed for Timothy, “My son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” To be strong in God's grace is preeminent; then a career will be clear. Hey, if you know a student who might be interested in working with people with disabilities, we have internships here at joniandfriends.org.
