A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Post Polio Syndrome

Episode Summary

If you’re feeling weak in the flesh today, Psalm 70 is your prescription.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend Vaneetha walks with a pronounced limp and deals daily with the limitations of post-polio syndrome. But for Vaneetha, her real struggle is asking for help. That’s because asking for help makes her feel weak, vulnerable, and needy. But over time – especially as Vaneetha grew closer to God – she realized that’s the way God wants her to see herself: weak without his strength; vulnerable without his protection; needy without his loving provision. It’s not the way the world thinks, but it’s the way God wants us to think. And now, Vaneetha is happy to ask for help. She knows that others benefit from lending her a hand. So, if you are feeling weak in the flesh today, Psalm 70 is your prescription, for it says, “I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.” Good words to you from Scripture.
