If you are struggling with how to pray for yourself, pray that you will love Jesus more than you love your sin.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and if you want to pray for me, pray that I will pinpoint my sin and turn from it – like the temptation to complain, or snap at people with impatience, or cave into fear when my disability is hard. Pray that I’ll keep partnering with the Holy Spirit to uproot wickedness in my heart. Ask God to help me confront every sin in my life: facing it, naming it, confessing it, repenting from it, and then, leaving it behind. And then, pray I’ll keep finding pleasure in Jesus; pleasure that I know – that he’s far more satisfying than any old sin habit. Pray that I’ll love Jesus more than I love my sin.
