Don’t let your hardships weigh you down. Instead, pray for others just like Paul did while he was in prison. Today, pray for someone else in need and you will have heaven sent joy.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. My friend Carolyn suffered a brain injury that left her with many health problems. But even with these limitations, Carolyn cares for her elderly father in a wheelchair. Her day-to-day life is full of challenges, but this remarkable woman doesn’t let her hardships weigh her down; in fact, Carolyn says, “When I go through hard times, I pray for others. I get my focus off myself and I pray for others.” Wow – this woman, rather than looking inward at her own legitimate needs, prays for others. She reminds me of the apostle Paul who, despite his limitations when he was in prison, focused his prayers on his friends in Philippi. The result? Heaven sent joy. Friend, when you pray for someone else – even when it may seem like you are the one who really needs prayer – God blesses you with joy. So, today, pray for someone else in need and yours will be the joyful journey.
