If you know a couple who has a disability in their marriage, follow God’s prompting and pray for them. Like Ephesians 6 says: “Pray in the Spirit on every occasion.”
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Marriage is tough, especially when there is a disability. It’s why I was so encouraged when I received this note from Lorna. She wrote, “Joni, I’m not prone to praying lengthy or regular prayers. But one night, long ago, I awoke and was heavy with concern for your marriage. I thought of how challenging it would be for a couple in this situation—and so, I immediately prayed for you and Ken.” Friend, I am so grateful for the prayers of people like Lorna. What with my quadriplegia? My 33-year marriage to Ken has thrived on prayer. And here’s my point. If you know a couple who has a disability in their marriage [whether stroke, MS, heart disease], follow God’s prompting as Lorna did and pray for them. Ephesians 6 says to: “Pray in the Spirit… on every occasion.” And a disability makes for a great occasion to pray.
