Don’t be discouraged by dark days and difficult times. Pray, pray, and pray some more!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently a verse has really been on my mind. Romans 12:12 says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and constant in prayer.” Boy that’s wise advice nowadays, with so many disasters happening, tragedies on the news, so many friends and family members battling health issues—oh my goodness, it’s just so hard to keep looking up; to not complain or simply pray madly that Jesus would hurry up and come back! But Romans 12 says we can be patient when times are hard; there is joy when we hope; and it is in times like these that we must pray, pray, and pray more—it’s what it means to be constant in prayer. So don’t be discouraged by these dark days and difficult times. Stay joyful in your hope; remain patient in whatever affliction you’re facing, and always be constant in prayer. It’s the right way to set the stage for Jesus coming back.
