The most important lesson to learn in prayer is to remain in Jesus and have his words remain in you. That’s something to consider today when you pray!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And you know, some promises are conditional. Like when you promise your children you’ll take them to the park ifthey get their homework done. Well, in the Bible, there are conditional promises, too. Look at John 15 where Jesus says, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.” Look, we can ask whatever we wish, but Jesus conditions our prayer with two important qualifiers: [one] We must be living in close fellowship with him, and [two] our requests must be in line with his will. So, prayer is not a blank check; you can’t just fill in the amount whenever you like, no matter what your spiritual condition, and expect God to cash it for you. No; the most important lesson to learn in prayer is to remain in Jesus and have his words remain in you. That’s something to consider today when you pray!
