There’s a very good reason to welcome trials as friends. James 1:3 can tell you why!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And you probably know this portion of Scripture very well. James 1 where it says to welcome trials as friends. Wait a minute, you say: there’s nothing friendly about the trials I’m going through. Besides, how can I honestly welcome a trial as a friend when I feel it’s anything but friendly? Well, sometimes the best answers to questions like these are found in the very next verse. And James 1:3 says that we can welcome a trial as a friend because we know – [and what do we know about this trial] we know that the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Right, there is a reason – a very good reason to welcome a trial as a friend. Because perseverance is that precious in a Christian’s life. At Joni and Friends, we have all sorts of resources to help you persevere through your hardships and limitations. So, visit us today at joniandfriends.org.
