Eagerly await the Lord’s return by getting busy down here on earth – to prepare for his coming.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Many years ago I wrote a book about heaven and I had such fun doing the research. I would dig deep into the Bible to study verses about the new heavens and the new earth and before long, there I’d be, pushing myself away from my computer and looking out the window, praying for the soon return of my Savior. Philippians 3:20 says, “… Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” I love that adverb “eagerly.” And to eagerly await the Lord is to get busy down here on earth getting prepared for his coming – learning to be holy as he is holy; learning how to pray with an eternal focus; learning how to give generously or learning how to obey through suffering, and so much more. So, friend? Start and I love this word, eagerly awaiting the Savior’s coming. It’s the best way to get prepared for heavenly glories above.
