God always has you in preparation for the next thing. God is using today’s difficulties to strengthen you for tomorrow. So have hope—you may not know your tomorrow, but you can trust in the Lord, today.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And many years ago, Cheryl and her husband adopted seven special needs children. This couple had planned, upon reaching retirement, to care for their children with disabilities; but when Cheryl’s husband suffered a stroke, she became the caregiver for them all. And Cheryl told me, “Joni, at first, I felt the Lord had given me way too much to handle. But as I now reflect, I see that all the years I spent working with my kids prepared me for this time in my life, helping my husband.” And isn’t that just how God works? God always has us in preparation for the next thing, like Moses being prepared in the desert of Midian before he led God’s people 40 years later through the desert of Sinai. And God is preparing you, too. God is using today’s difficulties to strengthen you for tomorrow. So have hope—you may not know your tomorrow, but you can trust in the Lord, today.
