It’s an absolute necessity to press ahead and to breathe in daily the Word of God.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And did you know that Christians can learn something from sharks? Sharks almost always move forward with their mouths open. God designed their gills so that they have to keep moving in order to breathe and stay alive. It’s like the Scripture where Paul says that he strives; he presses on; he forgets what’s behind and he moves forward. He has no time for relishing past accomplishments or beating himself up over past failures. He “forgets what is behind” and moves ahead. As a Christian, you were no more designed to remain static in your walk with Christ than sharks were designed to stay suspended in the ocean. You’ve got to move forward, you’ve got to make every effort, reach for the highest and best; or you will spiritually suffocate. It is an absolute necessity to press ahead, daily breathing in the Word of God. Friend, life is forward! So, get moving in the right direction!
