Once known as the bloodiest penitentiary in America, prisoners in Angola are finding new life in Christ by restoring wheelchairs for those in need. You too can live out Ephesians 4 by serving on a Wheels for the World trip! Find out more at www.joniandfriends.org.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The Louisiana State Penitentiary used to be known as the bloodiest prison in America. It’s a maximum-security prison with over six thousand prisoners, most of whom will die in there because of life sentences. But Angola Prison [as it’s called] is also a place of redemption and new beginnings. The warden at Angola firmly believes that the Prince of Peace is what is needed in his prison. And as a result, many of the inmates who once robbed and killed, are now followers of Jesus. And they put their love into action as they refurbish wheelchairs for our Wheels for the World outreach. Ephesians 4 tells us to put off our old self and be renewed, and these prisoners are doing just that. And one more thing, we here at Joni and Friends would love to pray for you in your troubles so, share with us your prayer need today at joniradio.org.
