Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And it is so hard to watch a loved one face death in pain and fear. It’s why my heart went out to Brittany Maynard and her family—the young 29-year-old woman who battled terminal brain cancer and then took her own life through assisted suicide. But Brittany’s choice was not a private one—it was a choice that has influenced and affected others. You see, Romans 14 says, “None of us lives for himself or dies for himself alone.” Friend, our choices alwaysimpact others, whether for the good or the bad. And assisted suicide makes a seemingly private choice tremendously dangerous. Why, already, since Brittany Maynard, assisted suicide has become the next, new social movement with more states now considering making it legal. Find out what’s happening in your state.
