Traveling with quadriplegia is challenging, but holding onto God’s strength, as Psalm 84 promises, sustains you through every obstacle.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And being on the road with quadriplegia is not easy. Packing suitcases full of medical supplies, navigating TSA at airports, wheelchair transfers, boarding and de-boarding airplanes, [and praying to Jesus that my wheelchair arrives at its final destination in one piece]. Oh, my goodness! God bless my husband and travel companions! Couldn’t do it without their help. Plus, keeping up with such an ambitious travel schedule with my age and disability can sometimes feel overwhelming. But it’s when I hold onto Psalm 84, where it says, “Blessed are those whose strength is in God, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.” And friend, it’s a great verse for you, too, if you’re setting your heart on a pilgrimage, that is, a trip that involves Christian ministry. Yes, you may encounter obstacles, but God will bless you with Psalm 84 strength that comes straight from him.
