Put fear behind you and trust God.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When Ali met Jesse, she knew he was special. He cherished Christ, and over time their love for one another grew. Then Jesse began to develop severe back pain. Doctors could not help, and Jesse had to learn to live with chronic pain. Although Ali could see things were moving toward marriage, she was scared. Did she want to take on the weight of Jesse’s pain? What if it got worse? And Ali sensed God asking, “Will you choose this pain and trust me?” Ali and Jesse have now been married for 12 years, and the pain – the thing that frightened Ali – has become such a source of blessing. Through the suffering, she and Jesse have developed a beautiful intimacy with God. So, friend don’t be afraid of suffering. Second Timothy tells us to put fear behind us and trust God.
