Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and you should see my desk right now. No, it’s not cluttered with just any old kind of stuff. You see, my desk, the corkboard behind it and the shelves above me are filled with lots of encouraging things. Throughout the day, if I’m feeling overwhelmed, all I have to do is look up and there’s a big iron sign that says “Hope.” Then I can look over and see Psalm 56: “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee.” Plus, I have tacked up Hebrews 14 where God says, “‘I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you.” Oh, and let’s see, I can look over here and see John 14:27 where Jesus says, “Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” Oh, friend listening, we need to envelop ourselves in God’s Word. So, write a verse on a Post-it and stick it somewhere you’ll see it. I promise you; it’ll keep you going when days get tough.
