God wants you to put the talents he’s given you to work! He will multiply your efforts, so start using your gifts.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I once asked a girlfriend to go with me to a nursing home to do some visitation – just a time of encouragement. But my friend, she did not think she was well-suited for the task. “Joni,” she said, “I’d like to, but I don’t know. I’m not good in a ministry to seniors; I would just mess things up.” So many people think that God is looking for experts. And so what do we do? Well, like the man in Matthew 25, we hide our talent in the ground, afraid of a Master we think demands perfection. But what God wants is for you to put the talents he’s given you to work. Look, maybe you’ve even felt inept to serve those with disabilities, but let me encourage you to visit joniandfriends.org. We’ve got the tools, the training, and the opportunities for you to gain experience in disability ministry, so don’t be afraid, friend. Use your God-given gifts and he will multiply your efforts.
