Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and let me tell you about 17-year-old Nestor, who is disabled and lives in Mexico. He cannot walk, and because his mother, Cristina, cannot afford a wheelchair, she has to carry him everywhere. But now that he is 17, Nestor’s too big to carry. So, Cristina is faced with two impossibilities. She can’t find a wheelchair and she can’t carry her son anymore. But when Wheels for the World came to Mexico, Cristina and Nestor were able to make the long trek from their poor village, and you can imagine their delight when our Wheels for the World team fit this boy to a junior-sized wheelchair that was perfect, a picture of God in 1 Samuel 2, where it says, “He raises the poor from the dust.” That’s what happened to Nestor. Praise God for our Wheels for the World outreach and learn more about it at joniandfriends.org.
