A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Refreshing and Freeing

Episode Summary

God’s power finds perfection through your weaknesses.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and let’s face it: we live in a society that demands perfection. As a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a degree in violin performance, my friend, Gina, knows this well. She says, “Joni, I’m in a world where performance and ability count. Where meeting a certain standard of excellence is critical. But as the part of the body of Christ, I’ve learned to appreciate gifts we all can bring to the church. And that’s refreshing,” Gina says, “and it is freeing.” Friend, you, too, may be struggling with the burden of always trying to give your very best. If so, I encourage you to do as Gina does. Every year she puts down her violin and serves special-needs families at our Family Retreats where she’s reminded that God’s power finds perfection through our weakness. Think you’d like volunteer at a Family Retreat? Let us know at joniandfriends.org.
