True strength isn’t found in your power, but in fully embracing and rejoicing amidst weaknesses because that’s where God’s perfect power shines brightest!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Christians often try to forget their weakness; God wants us to remember it, to feel it deeply. We want to subdue our weakness and be freed from it; but God wants us to rest and even rejoice in it. Weakness makes most Christians feel sad and short-changed, but Christ teaches us to say, “Most gladly will I glory in my infirmities.” Andrew Murray observed that, “The Christian thinks his weakness is his greatest hindrance in the life and service of God. But God tells us that it is the secret of strength and success. It is our weakness, heartily accepted and continually realized, that gives us our claim and access to the [power] of him who has said, ‘My strength is made perfect in weakness.’” Wow! Even centuries ago, Andrew Murray had it right. Don’t feel short-changed by your weakness. Join me in resting in and rejoicing in God’s purpose in each limitation.
