Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and life is hard – I mean it. And I can honestly say, when it comes to dealing with a disability, life only gets harder. That’s why I hold on to 1 Peter 1, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” All kinds of trials is right – quadriplegia, depression, breast cancer, chronic pain. I have faced a good deal of suffering, but the smile on my face through it all is real. How so? Jesus. He shed blood for my sins and made me a new creation, and he has promised not to give me more than I can bear. Plus, there’s the hope to come – a glorified body with no more tears or pain. Because were it not for all this, life with quadriplegia would be a lot more challenging. So, no matter what kinds of troubles you’re facing, rejoice! Put on a smile and share it with someone else.
