Your darkness will be turned to light. That’s a promise in the Bible – Isaiah 50:10.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I’m sure you know that Christians can often find themselves in the dark. Even Psalm 18 says that God wraps Himself in a canopy of darkness and, yes, there will often be dark nights of the soul, when it’s easy to forget what you once believed in the light. It happens when I feel overwhelmed by pain. Things can look so dark and dismal. But I have a favorite verse that I always turn to when the lights begin to dim in my soul. It’s Isaiah 50:10 and it says, “Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.” In other words, I trust in His name: and His name is the light of the world. I rely on Him, knowing that, in time, He will come out from behind that dark canopy make all things plain. True, my chronic pain does not go away, but my darkness has been turned to light. And yours can, too. It’s a promise.
