When tragedy strikes, remember all that God has done for you – count your blessings and praise his name.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I love the holidays. I remember one holiday dinner at our home. Our family was kind of going around the table sharing things for which we were thankful. Well, when it came to Kyle’s turn – my little nephew – he just sort of shrugged his shoulders. The kid could not think of anything to be thankful about – not one toy, not one fun movie or cool friend. You know, sometimes, I think we are a little like Kyle, especially when tragedy strikes. When hurricanes hit or your health takes a turn for the worse, or your husband receives a pink slip, then, well, we forget all about what we have to be grateful for. But you and I, we have got to remember – no, no, we’ve got to pray Psalm 103, where it says, “Praise the Lord, oh my soul. And do not forget His blessings.” Friend, don’t forget all that God has done for you, especially in the tough times. Today, count your blessings and praise his name.
