Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and oh, to have labored alongside the apostle Paul! There were two women named Euodia and Syntyche who were in that exceptional circle of intimate friends. But listen to what Paul says about them in Philippians 4. He says, “I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to agree with each other in the Lord.” That’s interesting; they must’ve had some argument and these two lost their focus. Their mission took a back seat to their dispute; so much so that the apostle had to command these two women – quit making God look bad. Recapture your passion, remember the mission! Agree with each other. Friend, it hurts the cause of Christ when we get off focus and become argumentative. So, look, today, if you’re knocking heads with a Christian friend, God is pleading with you – put the disagreement behind you. Never do you want to make God look bad!
