There is power in every song of worship.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And some days, my wheelchair can feel like a prison. Unable to walk or use my hands, I look at the bolts and bars of my wheelchair, and it can feel so confining! But that’s when I remember to sing. What does singing have to do with feeling trapped? Well, in Acts 16, we read that Paul and Silas were imprisoned – but that did not keep them from praying and singing hymns. What’s more, there was power in their song – chains were broken, prisoners were set free, and souls were saved! Perhaps you, too, like me are feeling trapped by your circumstances: you’ve spent three months without a job or you’ve passed your due date and the pregnancy is just getting harder – whatever be your “prison,” call a friend, meet with a brother or sister in Christ, and together, lift up your voice in song! Remember, there is power in every song of worship! So, sing on, friend!
