The life you enjoy today and the eternal peace you’ve been promised cost your Savior everything. So live today giving everything.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And have you ever counted what your faith costs? I think about that often, and you know what I’ve discovered? It costs everything. When Jesus told the young, rich man that if he wanted to experience Gods joy, he’d have to go out and sell everything he had, give the money to the poor, and follow Jesus as Lord, the young man just couldn’t do it. And the lesson is? Every day we need to assess the cost of Christianity. We can’t just ask for forgiveness, then happily walk away, and get back to living life as usual. We must remember our salvation cost somebody something; it cost Jesus his blood. And Jesus modeled what it meant to give one’s all. So don’t take your blessings for granted, offering obligatory gestures to God on Sundays or holidays. The life you enjoy today and the eternal peace you’ve been promised has cost your Savior everything. So, live giving everything.
