Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend, Lynn Wheeler, is a quadriplegic – and she is so blessed by the women in her church, as well as girls at a local Christian college who come over in the mornings to get her ready to sit up in her wheelchair. Lynn keeps a planner open on her dresser where her helpers can write down the days they can assist. One morning, Lynn’s husband, Doug, happened to notice what one helper had written on the planner. It simply said, “Serve Lynn.” Not work for Lynn, not “Here’s my hours.” No, rather her friends look at their responsibilities as service. What a blessing it was for Doug to see those sweet words. Ephesians 6:7 says to serve wholeheartedly, as though you were serving the Lord. Any work that you do with an eye to God’s glory is service in his kingdom.
