Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Do you have someone in mind you wish you could help today? Well, I know one way to help that special person – and it’s something you may have never considered. It has to do with a little story in the book of Joshua. After the successful battle of Jericho, God made it clear that all the gold and silver won from the battle was to go directly into the Lord’s treasury. But Achan, he tucked away a few expensive items for his retirement and told no one about it. God’s anger burned against Israel, so much so that the very next day was a complete fiasco. The sin of one person affected the whole camp, even taking away the lives of 36 soldiers in battle. You see, we may try to hide our sins, but our disobedience can, and does, affect the rest of the body of Christ. So, obey God, no matter what the circumstance – it’s one more way that you can help your friend, and yourself.
