Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In China, over twenty years ago, Feng Cheng plunged courageously into terrifying flood waters to try to rescue some children who had been swept in by the torrent. The lives of two kids were saved, but Feng Cheng paid dearly. He stayed too long in the freezing cold water, and his legs did not recover from the trauma; he lost the ability to walk. Feng Cheng expected to spend the rest of his life lying in bed at home, but God had other plans. Through our Wheels for the World outreach, Feng Cheng received the wheelchair he so desperately needed. First Samuel says God “lifts the needy, to make them inherit a seat of honor.” Maybe some people in America wouldn’t call a wheelchair a seat of honor, but Feng Cheng sure does! And his outlook should inspire us all! To learn how you can volunteer with Wheels for the World, visit our Wheels page today at joniradio.org.
