If you have a disability, there are many ways in which you can build up the body of Christ. Speak to your church leaders, pastor, or go to joniradio.org to find more resources.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I’ve often heard the question, “Joni, I have got a disability—but how can I serve my church?” Well, let me tell you about Max. He has autism and loves exuding his joy in the Lord—especially at his church where he serves as a greeter. When Max is at the door? With his boisterous “Welcome!”—even those who come in with low spirits can’t help but smile. As the letter to Philemon says, people like Max refresh our hearts; they give us joy and encouragement. Every church’s needs may be different—but every church needs someone like Max. If you have a disability, there are many ways in which you can build up the body of Christ. Speak to your church leaders or your pastor and let them know of your desire to serve. And remember, we at Joni and Friends are here to serve you, so send us your questions at joniandfriends.org and we’ll give you some great ideas. Happy serving.
