Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when God allowed my accident, it was awful. At first, the wheelchair I landed in felt like a prison, a symbol of confinement and isolation and hopelessness. But over time, I realized that my paralysis was drawing me closer to Jesus Christ. And that is when my wheelchair began symbolizing something different. It became God’s mark of ownership on my life, providing a richer experience of his grace and encouragement, his hope and power. What once felt like a prison became a place of freedom. And now, God has used my wheelchair to pass on that same message of hope to countless people. Today, is there a painful thing in your life that makes you feel imprisoned? Well, friend, let it be God’s mark of ownership on your life, for it can be the very thing that sets you free. That is something to celebrate!
