There is only one who understands, and his name is Jesus. All you need is to experience his peace and that will be enough.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And the most painful flight I’ve ever been on was a 20-hour flight from Thailand to Ethiopia. My dear husband Ken tried to help make me comfortable, but he could only do so much. Knowing there was nothing else to do, I decided not to fight the pain, while others were sleeping. I kept thinking, “Oh Jesus, others may not be able to help, but you’re here. Jesus, others may be sleeping, but you’re not. Jesus, thank you for staying up with me. Help me Jesus.” I kept repeating those things and suddenly, I had peace because Jesus was there. I knew he understood; he got it; he was with me in my pain and in knowing that – I experienced his peace. Little did I realize it, but I had risen to a greater level of the “fellowship of sharing in his sufferings.” Friend, there is one who not only understands, but who is right in the middle of it with you. And sometimes, that’s enough. It’s all you need to experience his peace.
