Don’t judge a book by its cover – be loving to all people.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I remember once, driving into a restaurant parking lot, and I was cut off by two beach boys on a motorcycle. Dressed in sleeveless shirts with pierced ears and cigarettes in their mouths, they had parked on the white line of my handicap parking space. Well, as I wheeled up behind them in the restaurant, one of them looked at me, and said, “Ma'am, excuse me, is your name Joanie? I think I saw your movie when I was little, and I used to go to Calvary Church up the road.” Whoa, I tell you, as we talked about his wayward faith, the Holy Spirit convicted me with that verse from James 2: “As believers … don’t show favoritism.” Remember friend, if you show special attention to those who look like they’ve got it all together, but you ignore those who look like trouble, you could be missing out on sharing the Gospel with those who need the Lord Jesus most. So, don’t show favoritism, be loving to all people.
