You won’t be homesick for long because heaven is right around the corner.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when you are homesick, what comes to mind? Maybe you think of the house you grew up in, so familiar in every detail and so dear to you. Maybe you recall well-loved faces and voices, now far away. It’s possible you are homesick for a city, for a neighborhood, for fireflies or sweet summer roses, or for old favorite home-cooked meals. Sometimes an aroma or a photo or a song can remind you of home and stir your longings. Well, those who love the Lord are sometimes homesick for heaven – and it’s a place where they belong but have never been. People who are homesick for heaven pray for the Lord’s return, and they long to be clothed in their heavenly dwelling. So today, if you are weary of this sin-sick world, let it stir in you a desire for the home you have yet to live in. It’s coming soon, so don’t worry you won’t need to be homesick for long.
