Episode Summary

If you are living under pressure or going through trials, remember the happiest command in Scripture from Ephesians 5 – sing and make music!

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and the other day when I wheeled into Joni and Friends singing a gospel song, a coworker stopped me, smiled and said, “Do you always sing when you come to work?” I told him, well, not always – but I most often do because I have to. Life as a quadriplegic is not easy, and there is so much great Christian doctrine embedded in almost every stanza of every hymn. Singing the timeless hymns of the faith gives me emotional balance when I’m in pain or feeling the crunch of my quadriplegia. Singing helps me keep focused. And friend listening? If you are living under pressure or going through great trial, remember the happiest command in Scripture from Ephesians 5. Because today, God is telling you to “Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
