Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and before my accident, when I used to play the guitar, I would love singing to my baby niece, Jayme Kay. Whenever Jayme would fuss, I’d get out my guitar, and I’d begin softly strumming and singing a lullaby. After a few minutes, my song would gently send my niece off to sleep. There’s something about a soft and gentle voice that brings peace, isn’t there? Well, the Bible tells of Elijah, who, when scared for his life, hides from his calling. But when the Lord gently whispered to him, Elijah’s fears dissipated. He found peace, and above all, the courage to continue promoting the name of the Lord. Sometimes when I feel upset over my pain, all it takes is a soft reassurance from my Lord and Savior, gently nudging me to keep on pressing forward. Is your soul troubled today? Well, perk your ear; it’s the calm voice of your Savior reassuring you of his grace.
