Today, accept God’s call on your life.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when I was first injured, I was pretty nasty to the people who helped me. At the hospital I was short with nurses, peevish with my physical therapist; and at home, well, all I wanted was for my sister to close the drapes, turn off the lights and leave me alone. Finally, I got tired of my sour disposition. I decided to follow Jesus. And he has made all the difference. It’s like Oswald Chambers once wrote, “We all know people who [because of suffering] have been made much meaner, more irritable and more intolerable to live with: it is not right to say that all suffering perfects. It only perfects one type of person—the one who accepts the call of God in Christ Jesus.” Friend, I want you to be that kind of person. So, please accept God’s call on your life from Philippians 4:13 and say with me, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
