Stick to God’s Point

Episode Summary

Next time, don’t change the subject – stick to the main point.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In Luke 14, Jesus was invited to dine at a Pharisee’s home. He noticed the wealthy people were grabbing the best seats, and so he launched into a story about the sorts of dinner parties that people ought to give—feasts for cripples, the homeless, and the poor. The Lord said that these people would not be able to repay their hosts, but they would be repaid at the resurrection. Just then one guest speaks up and says, “Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.” Like saying “Jesus, I can't follow your strange ideas about dining with cripples, but I love when you say everything will turn out perfectly in the end.” The man totally missed the point! So, the question is, do you like to change the spiritual subject when you’re uncomfortable with what God is teaching you? If so, heed the Spirit’s instruction today and, remember the lesson God wants to teach you. Stick to God’s point.
