How can you welcome someone with a disability into your church or community today? Let them know that Jesus cares for them.
Hi, I’m Joni, and sadly, the world doesn’t deal well with broken stuff. And it’s the same with broken people. We cannot relate to families who struggle with medical issues or disabilities. I hear this from parents of kids with autism – when they take their child into a store or into a church, they worry that something beyond their control will happen, causing embarrassment. And so, these families just find it easier to withdraw and stay at home. They may feel safer there, but it breeds isolation and loneliness. Oh, friend, would you please pray for our churches and communities to become safe places where a special-needs family will feel welcomed and know that Jesus cares for them?
