Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I remember one night when my friend Judy and I were having dinner, and she picked up a leftover lobster shell to examine it. And it was amazing! The perfect little patterns in the tail of the lobster, all these tiny half circles in exact little rows – even the way the prickly minute feathers at the base of the tail fanned out. “Wow,” she said. “God did that!” Maybe you’re thinking, Joni, ok, sure, God did that, but that’s no reason to get all excited. I mean, it was just a half-eaten lobster. I say, yes, it is reason to be excited! Nehemiah 9 says: “You [God] made the heavens, all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them.” Oh friend, if the heavens declare the glory of the God who created them, as well as rocks, and ants, and lobsters— then you should, too! So next time, take a closer look at your broccoli on your plate, or your artichoke, or your kale, and remember – God did that!
