Take great joy in the ways that you serve others! In doing so, you are giving thanks to God.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And at Sunday services, whenever it’s time to collect the offering, I look for my friend Benjamin – who has autism – to come down the aisle with the plate. I can be certain I’ll get a big smile, a little bow, and a “pat-pat” on the shoulder from him. Ben carefully hands the offering plate down our row. Then he waits with great expectation for the plate to come back full. Benjamin is so enthusiastic about his service at church. And he reminds me of 2 Corinthians 9 for, indeed, the service that he performs not only supplies the needs of God’s people, but also overflows in many expressions of thanks to God. And that is what makes a good helper, disability or not. So next time you have a chance to serve, take great joy in your service!
