Isaiah tells you to defend the oppressed and take up the cause of the fatherless. Join the cause to advocate for those in need at joniandfriends.org.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Born in Uganda with a disability, 3-year-old Jared was neglected, starved, and abandoned by his father. He and his 7-year-old sister, Rebekah, were taken in by their grandparents. But there was a condition: Rebekah had to serve as her little brother’s caregiver. Although Rebekah loves Jared and does a good job taking care of him, she is forfeiting her opportunity to go to school. But our Joni and Friends interns and ministry partners in Uganda provided not only a wheelchair for little Jared, but we convinced the grandparents that Rebekah needed to attend school. And that’s just what she is now doing, with grandmom and granddad helping little Jared. Isaiah 1 tells us to: “Defend the oppressed and take up the cause of the fatherless.” Our interns advocated for Rebekah and Jared – and you can, too. Join the cause at joniandfriends.org.
