Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And for my friend Shelly, the mother of a 10-year-old daughter who has autism, life has gotten pretty lonely—not to mention tiresome. It’s why we invited her to one of our Joni and Friends support groups for moms with special needs kids. While there, oh my goodness, Shelly would not stop crying. Finally, she said through her tears, “For ten years I have been asking God to connect me to a group of women who might understand what my family goes through. And today, God has answered my prayers. I’m not crying because I’m sad—these are tears of joy.” Oh friend, in Jeremiah 31 God says, “Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care.” Shelly returned home with fresh hope from Jesus—and you can too, if like Shelly you are caring for a disabled relative. Consider joining a support group at joniandfriends.org.
