Giving thanks to the Lord can be simple, joyful, and heartfelt, even for the smallest blessings.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. My friend Rainey has two darling twin grandsons named Titus and Silas. When they were just toddlers, Titus and Silas would say the funniest things, especially when it came to praying for their meal. One would say, “Jesus, thank you for banana, and fork, and mommy …” And then another would chime in, “And for pepperoni! Jesus Name. Amen.” Oh, my goodness, these boys are so cute! But Titus and Silas remind me of the simple call in Psalm 107, where it says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” Friend, it’s that easy. Just say so, just say thanks. Count your blessings. Name them, voice them, search and ponder them – turn over a thing this way and that to find something, anything for which you can give thanks. Even if it is something as simple as pepperoni!
