When you set your heart on heaven, you can’t help but live the best life possible on earth.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Did you know that everything we do down here on earth has a direct bearing on our capacity for joy and worship and service in heaven? It’s like we’re in the minor leagues down here – working out and training and practicing for the major leagues up in heaven. And for me, that’s a great motivation to keep obeying, keep persevering, and keep trusting. Why? Because I don’t want to jeopardize my eternal estate. I don’t want to diminish my chance to play in heaven’s major leagues, as it were. The cosmic stakes are just way too high. So today, take advice from Colossians 3 and set your mind and heart on things above. Do not get emotionally entangled in the affairs of this world. Learn to view heaven as the true reality and earth only as a dim shadow. When you set your heart on heaven, you can’t help but live the best life possible on earth.
