Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And California is beautiful, but there’s nothing quite like my home state of Maryland. Whenever I get a little homesick for the land of the Chesapeake Bay, Ken and I like to drive down to Pico and 15th Street in Santa Monica to eat at the Maryland Crab House. There are wooden mallets for cracking crabs, Old Bay seasoning and vinegar for dipping crab meat. There’s even University of Maryland posters on the wall. Surrounding myself with familiar things makes me so hungry for home. And I do the same thing when I get homesick for heaven. I read the book of Revelation. I talk about the Lord’s return. I dream of the day of being clothed in righteousness. Friend, today if you’re feeling a little tired of living in this sin-sick world, surround yourself with a few verses about heaven or beautiful old hymns about the Lord’s return and then get hungry for your eternal home.
